The Beginning Story of Danny Wilde

By: Richie Mayers

As I lift my pillow up, all I can see would be my old family picture, my eyeglasses and a pocket book entitled "5 years, still going strong". I sighed and murmured, "Shit, this is not good", for I remember that I still need to finish the book under my pillow. I got up from my bed, and put on my eyeglasses, stretched my body and jumped 6 times to feel alive. I went to the bathroom to wash my face but i forgot that there's no water yet so I had to suffer the whole day being oily and all that gushy-mushy no hygiene.

I put on my cashmere jacket and my leather pants, and wore my fedora hat, combed my hair right up and started to walk outside the door. I passed by those people who smoke and drink alcohol and just ignored them, until one guy poked me and said "Hey, Ray, what's up?" with the cigarette stuck into his mouth, making his voice and pronunciation to my name very different. I gave him a smirk and just walked pass them.

Oh, but before I continue my adventure in this marred world, I would like to introduce myself: I'm Ray Dixon, 23 and an Assistant Manager at Waters Department Inc. I'm just single and DOES NOT CARE about girls at all. I don't believe in love, not really, I'm an introvert, and I'm proud to say that. I read any kinds of books EXCEPT romance and all those Lovey-Dovey kinds of books.

Anyway, back to my story, I was in a hurry because I'll be late for work, (FOR THE NTH TIME) my salary would be deducted (AGAIN). Oh shit. I ran and ran and ran until I reached the taxi terminal. "Oh mother fucking cheese!" I screamed, well..... who wouldn't curse like that in public when you know you'll be late for work, and the taxi cabs are full of passengers, plus, add the passengers who are viciously waiting for other cabs to arrive because they're late for work too. "Oh well, I'm just gonna sit-in in one of the cabs with fire passengers and not pay the dude". I say, eating a candy bar and singing "Roar" by Katy Perry....

FINALLY! a taxi cab for me, all by myself, just for me, Danny Wilde! (well.. I call myself Danny Wilde because that's my superhero's name). "Hurry Dan, this is your chance! Run!" I ran to get that one taxi cab, I was so excited! I got it! Yes! When I strode inside the cab, I told the guy "235 Oxford Street please", and hurriedly paid him $250 to make it special. What I didn't noticed, was that there was already someone inside the cab, a girl, with brown hair, wearing a trench coat and with that bagpack that's made of crocodile skin, she looks like an Asian girl! I think Korean? or Chinese.. Whatever! She's Asian that's it... Well, I'll admit.... I HATE GIRLS, I DON'T BELIEVE IN LOVE, but.. I LOVE ASIAN-LOOKING PEOPLE!.. I mean, if you can just see her right now! She looks cool! I love her fashion! Her outfit! Everything!

I didn't hesitate and asked her "Uhmm... Excuse me.. May I know your name?" I got nervous and I was stuttering that time... She looked at me, her eyes so bright and it somehow sparkled. She said "Why? Why are you asing my name?" Her English isn't that fluent tho, her accent would be.... (hhmmm yes, she IS Korean) a heavy Korean Accent. And I continued, "Uhmm... well it's just... you look new here.. in Michigan, where are you from?" then a smile from my weary face... (She had doubts on me, maybe she'll just ignore me or tell the dude to stop and just get another cab) I wasn't expecting her to poke me then she smiled at me then.... "Mur naime is Sooyoung, I'm new here, yes, and I'm from Korea". Then gave me a calling card with random symbols that said " 소녀 시대, SME, 최 수영". I asked her the meaning of those random symbols, and she told me "Well.. it means, Girls' Generation, Company: SM Entertainment; Name: Choi Sooyoung" and she suddenly got quiet.

I sensed her sudden quietness and tried to ask her why, but instead of answering me, she just told me to stop asking questions. And she even told me to rip the calling card she gave me! I was like.... WHAT THE FUCK IS SHE SAYING?

....... TO BE CONTINUED.....
